Exciting plans are progressing for Twyford Avenue in Stamshaw, where six new affordable one-bedroom flats will be built.
The homes will be owned and managed by Portsmouth Homes, the council’s landlord service, and will help increase the supply of much-needed social housing in the city.
The scheme is part of the Council's wider pipeline of affordable housing developments, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, energy efficient homes that help meet local housing demand
Demolition of the existing buildings are due to begin in October 2026, with construction expected to complete by December 2027.
Imperial Homes Ltd are the contractor delivering the project and will work closely with local residents and businesses throughout the development
Cllr Darren Sanders, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Housing and Tackling Homelessness, said:
"This development at Twyford Avenue is another important step in our ongoing programme to deliver more homes Portsmouth residents can afford to live in. It forms part of a strong pipeline of housing projects across the city, helping us to make the best use of our land and provide more high-quality homes for people who need them."
