A celebration of Portsmouth foster carers took place at the annual 'Foscars' to recognise their dedication to local children and young people.
Held at the Queens Hotel in Southsea, the evening was organised by Portsmouth City Council's fostering service Foster Portsmouth to thank its carers for the love and compassion they show every day.
Over 100 carers joined Foster Portsmouth staff and councillors to enjoy a night of music, entertainment, food and prizes.
Cllr Nick Dorrington, Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education, said:
It was an absolute privilege to attend our annual 'Foscars' event and share an evening with incredible people who make an extraordinary difference to the lives of children and young people.
"They provide stability, encouragement and a safe and loving home where it is needed most.
"This event is a great opportunity for us to celebrate our amazing Foster Portsmouth carers and say a huge thank you for everything they do.
The evening was made possible with the support of headline sponsor Blanchard Wells, the civil engineering and groundworks construction specialists based in Hampshire. Raffle prizes were also kindly donated by Victorious Festival and Comserv property services.
Foster carers provide safe and loving homes for local children who need them, helping young people to stay close to their schools, friends and communities.
Foster carer Bob Palmer and his wife Sharon have been fostering for Foster Portsmouth for ten years. Bob said:
The 'Foscars' really is a lovely celebration of what we all do and it's very nice to be with other carers in a fun and enjoyable setting and swap stories and experiences.
"Sharon and I started fostering to assist young people with reaching their potential, showing and giving them love and encouragement and helping and growing their confidence and belief in themselves.
"We are now in the position where we regard six of our girls, of varying ages, as our daughters and we have two grandbabies with another on the way! It's a long road with many bumps but the rewards are enormous and joyful.
